July 2008 .. For the number of years that I have been painting my works should be hanging in the National Gallery! .. but alas, I have allowed Life to get in the way from time to time and thats the way it is when there is family and work and moves and breakups and etc etc. But the love of painting, particularly watercolours, and watching the magic as it unfolds on the paper is too much of a draw and once again I am now on another journey as a full time artist .. with several exhibitions lined up it's full steam ahead.
I now live and work in Far Western Queensland and my favourite subjects are right at my front door and in my backyard .. red sandhills, glorious ghost gums, large blue skies with horizons that go on forever, weathered timber, rusty chains, they're all there beckoning.
My first solo exhibition was in 1990 and I have been exhibiting ever since with solo and shared showings. My style has been gleaned from many workshops I have attended with renowned tutors who gave me the confidence to share my knowledge and I have tutored hobby classes in watercolours privately and for several years with Tafe in Toowoomba, also with other art groups.
My work has been awarded many prizes over the years, my most recent being First Prize in the open section at Arts West Annual Competition held in the Quantas Founders Gallery in Longreach, July 08.
